Where are you from?
I am a Bay Area native!
Where do you go to college? What classes have you taken, and what's been keeping you busy on campus?
I am a student at Wellesley College in Massachusetts! In my first year, I took classes in music, history, neuroscience, Spanish, economics, and psychology. I am potentially going to major in psychology and minor in economics. And in addition to my academics, I take alto saxophone and carillon lessons, I play the sax in the college's big jazz band, and I am the Publicity Chair and Co-President of Wellesley College Hillel. One of my favorite activities to do at Wellesley is to walk or run around Lake Waban, a beautiful lake right behind my residence hall.
What are you doing with Cocofloss this summer?
This summer, I am working at Cocofloss as a Summer Intern. I have worked on a variety of projects over the last three weeks. To name a few, I have helped advance the Cocofloss cause and community by creating Cocofloss Life (life.cocofloss.com), revamping Cocofloss's Oral Health (www.cocofloss.com/oral-health) resources, enabling an automated email system for the 21 Day Flossing Challenge (www.21dayflossingchallenge.com) and forming a foundation for the Cocofloss Brand Ambassador and Student Ambassador programs.
I have loved interning here. This has been my first internship ever and my first experience working at an office. It has been a great experience and I have enjoyed working with and learning from the co-founders, Chrystle (a fellow Wellesley alumna, '05) and Cat. They have encouraged me to use my creativity, past experiences, communication, and research skills to promote daily flossing.
One particular bonus of this internship has been learning so much about oral health and the importance of good oral hygiene! Within the first few days of this job, I was asked to review educational materials on topics such as cavities, teeth stains, gums, and flossing. I have learned so much!
#Cocofloss loves to travel! Where have you adventured, and what are some of your favorite travel memories so far?
I have traveled across England, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, Turkey, the Dominican Republic, and Israel. I have loved visiting all of these places, so it's difficult to say which place has been my favorite so far. Some of the highlights of my trips have been picnicking (eating cheese and bread) in front of the Eiffel Tower, walking and eating my way through the colorful shops in La Boqueria Market in Barcelona, and touring through the Colosseum in Rome.
